I completed my education at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco, having been drawn to CIIS because of its unique fit with my long-time interest in the wisdom traditions and psychology. My graduate studies centered on the integration of eastern philosophies with western psychology. A passion for clinical work led to a doctorate from the APA accredited Clinical Psychology program.
The integration of mindfulness practices and clinical psychology was in its early stages during my graduate studies. It is exciting to now be a part of the explosive growth in its clinical application that has occurred over the past decade. Mindfulness based therapy has rapidly become a scientifically-supported approach that is compatible with all psychological, spiritual, and religious belief systems.
My clinical training is supported by interests in the fields of attachment theory, interpersonal neuro-biology, somatic focusing, and meditation.
